Walk For Belonging

Communities of Belonging is a 501c3 empowering formerly incarcerated and homeless populations with holistic support and peaceful reintegration into society.

We build safe, trusting, and caring connections and weave them together with practical, tangible resources so that marginalized individuals feel a sense of belonging, purpose and contribution.

For five years, our Restorative Home has provided marginalized individuals with the opportunity to live in a caring, conscious, clean and sober community.

Our broader program gathers weekly for a community circle designed to build relationships with allies of all backgrounds and histories.

We also host Community Conversations designed to put a human face on the complex issues of incarceration and homelessness. Through vulnerability and the sharing of personal stories, we strive to reduce fear and stigma and to build allies through thoughtful dialogue and understanding.

Our Mission

We build connected communities through restorative homes, community conversations and holistic reentry support that integrate marginalized populations as a vital part of the whole.

We Value

  • Creating new, positive memories to move beyond trauma

  • Using restorative practices to listen, heal and grow

  • Celebrating important milestones

  • Progress, even when it’s not a straight line

  • Exploring what (un)met needs may be driving feelings

  • Staying connected, even when our perspectives differ

“I have felt more love, respect and acceptance in COB than anywhere at any time in my life. If you truly desire to make a positive and lasting change in your life there is no better place to be.”
